The plot follows the adventure of two Mormon evangelists as they endeavor to share their faith with the locals of a small Ugandan community. Crafted by the authors of South Park, Matt Stone and Trey Parker, along with the record-breaking EGOT winner, Robert Lopez, the musical score is famous for earning its very own Tony Award.

In response to requests from cast members to reassess the portrayal of black characters in light of worries about racial fairness, a handful of lyrics and elements of the plot were marginally adjusted back in 2021. Nevertheless, the themes of friendship, faith, and optimism, which surpass all religious beliefs, stay the same throughout the play.
In their assessment, The New York Daily News describes how The Book of Mormon is a production where you frequently catch yourself laughing one minute and subsequently realize your mouth agape the subsequent, eventually tearing up and, eventually, applauding for the lead singers. Writers Stone and Parker are notorious for their "take-no-prisoners, nothing-is-sacred approach to humor."

Additionally, Lopez exemplifies a knack for thumbing his nose at modern conventions. As all three share credit for the book, music, and words, this show can be described as "foolish, heartfelt, and extraordinarily rude, while the score consistently lively and clever keeps the acts in this Book rotating seamlessly.”

The Eugene O'Neill Theatre is viewed as one of the prime spots for popular Broadway productions in all of New York! Visit the stage at New York for the ultimate viewing encounter of The Book of Mormon.
