Coming to you from Broadway, it’s time for New York to fall in love with theatre again as the musical comedy Book of Mormon will be coming to in New York at Eugene O'Neill Theatre on Friday 22nd August 2025.
The mindblowing and sometimes rude and crude musical Book of Mormon follows the story of two Mormon Elders in training to become missionaries – Kevin Price and Arnold Cunningham, who are entrusted with a mission to a remote village in Uganda to convert its residents. The musical deliberately satirizes faith in general through the eyes of the pair, as Cunningham comes up with an unorthodox manner to teach religion to the locals.
The Book of Mormon was created by Robert Lopez, Trey Parker, and Matt Stone, the same creators of the animated TV show South Park and the Broadway play Avenue Q.

Eugene O'Neill Theatre
Well-known as one of the premier theatre venues in New York, Eugene O'Neill Theatre has always been the top choice as a play or musical venue, especially due to its magnificent interior and exterior architecture that is both practical and beautiful. The Book of Mormon will be available for a limited season in Eugene O'Neill Theatre in August, on Friday 22nd August 2025.
Legendary duo Matt Stone & Trey Parker, alongside Robert Lopez have once again created another hilarious production but in an entirely new medium for them, this time being in on the Broadway stage. The Book of Mormon, centered on Kevin Price and Arnold Cunningham, two missionaries of the Latter-day Saints (LDS) religion, begin on their journey to baptize and convert the local population of a village in Uganda. The play, however serious it may sound, delves away from a sedated approach to sharing this story, as it instead uses comedy and even blasphemy to reveal the truth behind the way religion is taught and religious stories are told.
Audiences all over the world and for the past decade since its Broadway premiere in 2011 have welcomed The Book of Mormon positively despite its tone, as despite being somewhat against orthodox teaching, and often satirical, it also comes with a warm and serious tone beneath its language. Throughout its two acts, the musical perfectly remolds itself from a play full of cursing, adult themes, and profanity to a story that shares a deep message. The New York Times agrees with this thought and stated that “The central theme of The Book of Mormon is that many religious stories are silly. Many religious doctrines are rigid and out of touch. But religion itself can do enormous good as long as people take religious teaching metaphorically and not literally; as long as people understand that all religions ultimately preach love.”
