The Book Of Mormon tickets

Broadway fan or not, audiences in New York now have another reason to be excited, as The Book of Mormon will be having a limited season in New York, available at Eugene O'Neill Theatre on Saturday 9th August 2025. Witness top-level comedy from watching the production of the same creators of South Park and the musical Avenue Q.

The Book of Mormon is a show about our views on religion, specifically of the mission of Kevin Price and Arnold Cunningham, who through clever techniques, attempt to convert villagers of a local village in Uganda. This Tony Award-winning show, that has eventually continued to have successful stagings in the U.S., London, and Australia, running for more than a decade to date, unmasks the way religious stories are told, with comedy through classical theatre and showtunes.

Kevin Price and Arnold Cunningham are two missionaries of the Latter-day saints (LDS) sent on a mission to a native Ugandan village. Their mission is to convert the locals to their religion, but they learn upon their arrival that their job is more complex than they had realized, given the abundance of local issues that the villagers face such as oppression, an HIV/AIDS epidemic, and poverty among others. The pair then gradually realize that they must use more unique methods to convert the population than the traditional way that they know.

It is in the pair’s difficult journey where the performance of The Book of Mormon shines – allowing the subject matter of religion to be blasphemed and injected with comedy, showtunes, and a bit of crude language, yet still remaining unobjectionable to the general public. Since its debut in 2011, the musical has been received positively despite its manner of sharing its story. The church itself supported the musical, buying ads and releasing slogans specifically that stated: “You’ve seen the play, now read the book.” In its West End performances, the repeatedly sold-out shows were prime examples of The Book of Mormon’s success. Theatre goers were already eagerly curious given the content and theme of the play, according to The Guardian, it was even to their surprise that “suddenly you realize you’re in for not just humour but a seriously fine night of entertainment, and it just keeps on getting better.” The musical’s run in Australia also loved by theatre fans, with the Sydney Morning Herald even declaring that the Book of Mormon is a “dynamite production of a show that has consistently been called the funniest Broadway musical of all time.”

It's no shock that , The Book of Mormon’s several productions globally have earned it nine Tony Awards, four Drama Desk Awards, three Outer Circle Critics awards, four Olivier Awards, and two Helpmann Awards.

This upbeat, happy, and totally hilarious play continues its tour in New York.
