The Book of Mormon, one of the the longest-running shows in Broadway history, will now be arriving in New York! and performing at Eugene O'Neill Theatre on Saturday 20th September 2025!
The story revolves around the coming-of-age story of an odd pair of two Mormon missionaries, Kevin Price and Arnold Cunningham, the Book of Mormon creatively challenges religion and religious storytelling, and presents it in a fresh comedic light. The two missionaries are tasked with a mission to convert the residents of a local village in Uganda, who turn out to be dealing with issues of their own rather than what they aim to preach.
The Book of Mormon was just an idea back in 2003 by creators Trey Parker, Matt Stone, and Robert Lopez, continuing on to its debut in 2011. Since then, the Book of Mormon has become one of the most financially successful Broadway plays in history, with repeatedly sold-out shows for over a decade.
The Book of Mormon will only be on tour in New York’s Eugene O'Neill Theatre for a limited period this fall. Don’t wait for seats to run out on this popular Saturday showing!

Premiering in 2011, The Book of Mormon has undoubtedly been one of the most accomplished Broadway musicals since its opening. Conceptualized by Trey Parker, Matt Stone, and Robert Lopez, the musical is based on the Latter-day Saints (LDS) founder and prophet Joseph Smith and his Book of Mormon. The show was originally meant to debut off Broadway at the NYC Theatre workshop after its 2008 staged reading, though this turned out to be a blessing in disguise as its actual launch in 2011 moved to a more central location at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre.
After a year, the Broadway play was already greenlit for a U.S. national tour that lasted four years, including a run in Salt Lake City, Utah! The show also proceeded to be staged in several locations, with a Chicago production produced in 2012, a West End production in 2013, and Australian and European productions both performed in 2017.
The story and execution of this musical were key components to this success. It narrates the story of Elder Kevin Price and Elder Arnold Cunningham, two Mormon missionaries who prepare to spread their religion in a remote village in Uganda. It is there that they contend with the local issues that the villagers face, as well as their different methods in teaching their religion, given that Cunningham chooses to teach the villagers by adding hilarious tales woven from science fiction and fantasy stories into his religious teachings, while Price is determined to teach the villagers in the usual, orthodox manner. The way the musical is shared with the audience is told in quite an unorthodox manner as well, usually making fun of religion in its script and also injecting comic entertainment in both of its acts, including its upbeat showtunes.
For its current season, the Book of Mormon will be in New York in September at the central theatre venue of Eugene O'Neill Theatre, which holds an unbelievable stage, sound system and acoustics, and finest facilities that is fit for this critically-acclaimed musical.
