The plot chronicles the journey of two Mormon evangelists as they endeavor to promote their faith with the residents of a tiny Ugandan community. Conceived by the authors of South Park, Matt Stone and Trey Parker, along with the record-breaking EGOT holder, Robert Lopez, the score is notable for earning its very own Tony Award.

In response to pleas from cast members to reassess the depiction of black characters in light of concerns about racial justice, a few lyrics and points of the storyline were somewhat altered back in 2021. Nevertheless, the themes of friendship, faith, and hope, which transcend all religions, persist consistent across the performance.
In their review, The New York Daily News portrays how The Book of Mormon is a production where you frequently find yourself laughing one moment and subsequently discover your mouth agape the following, finally tearing up and, finally, cheering for the primary singers. Writers Stone and Parker are notorious for their "take-no-prisoners, nothing-is-sacred method to comedy."

Furthermore, Lopez exemplifies a knack for thumbing his nose at current norms. As all three share credit for the book, music, and lyrics, this production can be labeled as "foolish, heartfelt, and remarkably impolite, while the score uniformly lively and intelligent keeps the pages in this Book turning smoothly.”

The Eugene O'Neill Theatre is regarded as one of the prime spots for sought-after Broadway shows in the whole New York! Drop by the performance area at New York for the ultimate watching event of The Book of Mormon.
